MIX'N'MINGLE

The legendary Mix & Mingle was first held in Hull in the early 00s and was resurrected in Sheffield in 2008. It found a new home in the ninety2 family in 2010 and went from strength to strength before taking a break after its 10th iteration in 2017. We are back with a bang in 2019.

Always held with a retro (predominantly 80s) theme, mixnmingle is a hugely popular party tournament where fun can be had on and off the pitch, but the competition is fiercely fought. Teams such as DiscMen, Dazed & Confused and Relentless have won in the past and gone on to place very highly at UKU Mixed Indoor Nationals in the same year.

SHEFFIELD HAT

The Sheffield Hat was almost born by accident when a tournament idea we had didn't quite work and we decided to switch dates and formats and ended up with a 5v5 hat tournament! In the end, "ShefHat" ran successfully from 2010 to 2016, before taking a break. Once again we will be back on our mini pitches in 2019.

To keep things different, we play 5v5 on BULA Beach Ultimate sized pitches and run a number of fundraising activities alongside the main tournament to raise money for charity, including the infamous MVP Show Game, played at the end of Saturday which included a fantasy ultimate game and cash prizes! The tournament has raised over £1000 for our chosen charities so far.

SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND

Billed as the replacement to the old Mix & Mingle, SFTW hit the scene in 2018 as a predominantly mixed tournament, with a small open division. 

For 2019, with the new mix'n'mingle taking the usual early year spot, we are moving to the autumn and are hoping to run open and women's divisions on up to three pitches.

NEWCASTLE ULTIMATE DRAFT LEAGUE

A bit like a Hat tournament running over a series of weeks, we started NUDL back in 2015. You enter as an individual and then the volunteer captains select their teams at Draft Night. Matches then run over 6 or 7 weeks until we have a winner. We also do stats so we can give out MVP prizes as well as prizes for goals, assists and Ds. Not to mention great Spirit also!
